I went to Steermouse on a clean OS install and it worked perfectly on my Razer once I ran the updater.

If you have old legacy USB drivers (USB Overdrive, Karabiner, etc) it is probably best to uninstall them before experimenting with this. I will offer this from my own ventures before Yoshi custom-built this update. Anybody with a registered copy of Steermouse can run the updater to get the Razer control.
BUT (and man is this guy gracious) he posted the updater described above to his dropbox and told me I could share. Yoshi has not posted a new product version as the time of this writing it may come out in the June release. As far as providing in-depth configuration of what happens when you click a key. But DO NOT go into it looking for an LED / RGB configuration tool. Personally I look at the screen and not the peripheral so thats fine by me. That same driver is also giving me full control of my Logitech G600 MMO gaming mouse. Today he sent me an updater for the Steermouse that now runs my G600 AND my OrbWeaver FLAWLESSLY on my M-1 Mac Mini running Big Sur 11.4. Incredibly, he sent me a prototype driver, which sparked a couple quick laps of sending him diagnostics and such and. It handled the G600 beautifully and we discussed the Razer left-hand keypad. I reached out to Yoshi, who is the brain behind the Steermouse universal USB device controller.

Logitech software is used to define what mouse buttons can do – far more options than Apple software provides, though you could probably cobble together other configuration methods with BTT perhaps.For everyone like me who have been looking for a way to easily and reliably program some of the more elaborate controllers on a Mac, I gotta share what just happened. If the included Logitech software finally works without freezing, or causing skips or kernel panics - all things it did for over a decade - then I congratulate them for finally getting their act together. But I used Logitech MX Master mice for many, many years before going Magic Trackpad, and the Logitech Control Center software was always problematic. That’s why alternative drivers like Steermouse and USB Overdrive exist. When I used Logitech mice I ended up managing all the gesture buttons and wheel controls with Steermouse, and I liked additional unique features like being able to snap the cursor to specific areas (eg close button), and you could make fine-grained adjustments to scroll speed and acceleration #Steermouse alternative mac drivers (Not so much for the original poster, who answered this question, but for others.) Which device do you have, and how advanced is your usage? If the device does what you want without the Logitech software, then don’t install it. I’m personally a fan of simplicity with my mouse. (Long-term chronic tendonitis sufferer here.) I’ve tried a bunch, and really like the Logitech M557, for the way it feels in my hand. It has more buttons/functions than I want to use, myself. Regular click, right/Control-click, and the scroll wheel all work without the Logitech software. There’s another button (with an icon that looks like the Windows logo), and the scroll wheel can also be pushed side-to-side for side scrolling (I guess).
I don’t use either of those, they would cramp my fingers if I used them regularly. Might work without the Logitech software, might not.įor more advanced features, there are other tools. StreamDeck if you want special buttons, Keyboard Maestro if fn- or combo-keys are good enough, and so on. Maybe one of those will work better for you than the Logitech software. If you’re looking to avoid it, for any reason, or no reason at all. I installed the Logitech “G-hub” software for the new Big Sur update.
